Choosing a navigation program is one of the most important decisions you can make preparing for a circumnavigation, long cruise,  or crossing. After extensive research I decided to go with Nobeltec's  Admiral software and weather package. If you haven't considered Nobeltec, visit the  nobeltec.com website and download the free demo. I'm sure you will find this a truly remarkable tool.

GPS:

Garmin makes a wide variety of GPS styles to fit any application (marine, automotive, aviation). "Over the past 9 years I have used Garmin navigation equipment. I've never had a problem. My Grandfather's voice creeps into my head "If it's not broke don't fix it" I wanted a rock-solid system, and Garmin was he only choice for me. We also find Garmin GPS's work particularly well with our Nobeltec Charting software.

I have used Ray Marine products for years, and all I can really say is they have never failed me. I believe that is the best recommendation I can give, Ray Marine's  products are bulletproof, and dependable!

Communication onboard Namaste is made possible by Satcom Systems Inc., SatCom Systems specializes in Satellite communication. If your looking for a communication system for your own boat, give them a ring. They are an excellent company to work with, I'm sure you will agree as well.

Marine Refrigeration:

As most of you know I'm an energy miser, and all about green power. I searched hi & low for a bullet proof refrigeration system that really works and uses very little power. Camera Mount

As many of you know it's been hard for me to get good video shots onboard Namaste while I'm under way. A sailboat is a tricky place to take video, and I've found the solution to the problem. Editing System:

Many of you have inquired as to how I edit & compress the show. I have been editing for many years. I started editing on film before making the jump to a digital NLE system (Avid). I then moved to Adobe Premiere and have been using Premiere for the last 8 years. Adobe has recently released "Premiere Pro", and all I can say is WOW! Project BlueSphere will be available on DVD, and VCD soon, and Premiere Pro is the platform that allows me to do it. Wind Power:

Southwest wind power's Air-x marine wind generator is simply the best marine wind turbine on the market and provides Namaste with the latest evolution in wind power. My personal goal is to produce "Project BlueSphere" using only green power. My Air-x turbine (Scottie) charges Namaste's batteries whenever the wind is in excess of 7mph, and puts out a whopping 400 watts @ 28 mph. Scottie is also quiet, easy to install, and scores a perfect "10" in my book when it comes to design. If your looking for a wind generator for your boat, this is the one. Latitudes & Attitudes is a Magazine dedicated to the cruising lifestyle, and that's  what we are all about. I've been reading since I picked up the first copy at a boat show. If you are not watching our show, you should be reading latitudes and Attitudes, it's fun, and involves real people living the dream. It's also a great source of information for cruises.

AIR TREATMENT SYSTEM:

I've always been healthy as an ox, but I am asthmatic, and allergic to mold. The orders and airborne mold spores in my boats have always triggered my asthma. I cannot emphasize  how impressed I am with my "Salon mate" and "Bilge Buster" air purifiers. These products have made my boating life far more enjoyable. I would especially recommend these products to anyone who suffers from allergies or asthma and spends allot of time on their boat. For me the fact that the boat doesn't smell damp and dank is just a bonus. I know this sound a bit like an ad, but these products really work well.

CDI - CRUISING DESIGN, INC.

When it came time to get a new roller furling I was facing two issues, cost & design. The last thing I want during this trip is complicated hardware that I need to replace or rebuild. I was also limited by budget. After researching furlings, I decided to go with CDI for three reasons. First of all the furling system is simple, and second of all the price was rite. I've sailed "Namaste" through some pretty heavy blows and never had a problem with the furling, and I think that says it all. It's been bullet-proof, and that's what I'm looking for.
